mastering ($75 / song)
This is a fully virtual/remote service where you supply the final mix stereo WAV file to us and we Master your song, ensuring it is optimized for the release format and is compliant with all industry requirements.
Mixing ($150 - $250 / song)
This is a fully virtual/remote service where you can provide us your stems via share folder and we will mix the song or record for you. Rates vary depending on the track count and song complexity.
Tracking ($50/hour)
We offer limited tracking and overdubbing services in our facility in Sacramento, CA. Contact us for more details.
Mixing + Mastering ($175 - $275)
If you require full service you can save by bundling mixing and mastering. We also offer discounted rates for multi-song projects, contact us for more information.
Producer ($100 / song)
The Producer rates includes the cost of mastering. The Producer serves as a Project Manager for your project, which includes project planning, budgeting, coordination of human and other resources, as well as creative input at the artist's sole discretion. Our Producer operates under a fee service and will not negotiate royalties as part of the deal, all your royalties are yours to keep!

the man behind the machine
Our founder and principal engineer, JL “Pepe” Espada, has been a musician for over 45 years and has played on touring bands, bar bands, has been a studio hand, and ultimately a studio owner, operator, and producer. Pepe studied Songwriting and Music Production at Berklee School of Music and completed the Mastering Accelerator mastering program, making him a bonafide Mastering Engineer. He has also participated in in-depth mixing workshops with Berkleee Professor and renowned mix engineer Rachel Alina. As founder of the independent label Boneyard Records, Pepe is also the in-house producer for the label acts. His approach as a music producer follows the model of the producer as a Project Manager. The service includes pre-production (planning, scheduling, and budgeting), production (tracking), and post-production (mixing and mastering), but at the artist’s discretion, he can also provide creative input. As an accomplished songwriter, Pepe can not only contribute instrumentally to his client’s recordings (guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals), but he can also assist in the song’s concept development, arrangement, and lyrics composition.
